Free “Point-and-Click” Cloud Migrations with Racemi Cloud Path

Beta opens for on-boarding to public cloud providers

Migrating existing servers to the cloud is now point-and-click easy - and free for the next 30 days for the first 100 customers -- with a new online beta migration service from Racemi.

Racemi Cloud Path is a Software as a Service (SaaS) offering that requires no infrastructure at the customer location so there is no hardware to buy and nothing to maintain. Cloud Path makes it possible to quickly onboard existing applications to cloud computing providers, like Amazon EC2, Rackspace, Terremark, and GoGrid without costly professional services or rebuilding servers from scratch. By comparison, it can take hours or even days to migrate an existing application manually, costing hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

"We've taken our award-winning DynaCenter image-based provisioning software and made it available online as a service," said James Strayer, vice president of product management, Racemi. "This enables businesses to migrate their existing applications into the cloud with very little cost and absolutely zero risk. There is no easier way to get into cloud computing."

In addition, recent research from analyst firms such as 451 indicates that cloud vendor lock-in is a key concern for most businesses. But with Cloud Path, businesses can easily migrate cloud instances from one cloud provider to another, minimizing any unease over vendor lock-in, as well as enabling high availability strategies that span providers.

Even if customers miss the promotional offer, Racemi's pay-per-use pricing enables customers to use Cloud Path risk free, because they are only billed for successful migrations. There is no faster, easier, or lower risk way for businesses to get into cloud computing.

Racemi migrates workloads to the cloud by comparing the configurations of the source and destination servers, and configuring the necessary network, storage, and virtual machine components "in-flight" to ensure that the image can be run on the target cloud platform.
